Requirements
  • A minimum of one to three years of experience as an Assistant Manager is preferred, with a minimum of six months as a Sales Associate required.
  • An Associate degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid Food Handler's permit or ServSafe Certification must be possessed where required by law or company policy.
  • Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of equipment within the assigned stores is required.
  • The ability to work nights, weekends, and company-observed holidays as business needs require is required.
  • The ability to work a minimum of three second shifts per week opposite the General Manager to ensure management coverage during key operating hours is required.
  • Reliable transportation and telephone access are required.
  • The ability to communicate in English is required if applicable.
  • The ability and willingness to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service is required.
  • The ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other team members is required.
  • The employee must be able to stand for long periods, frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the total operation of the assigned Pump & Pantry location, including all licensed programs and business units within the store.
  • In the absence of the General Manager, execute the assigned operational responsibilities.
  • Assist with hiring, disciplining, and terminating personnel in partnership with the District Manager and Corporate Human Resource Department.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly operational routines, including back-office functions, bookkeeping, and inventory control, are completed timely and accurately.
  • Ensure customer needs are met and support execution of the company's customer service standards.
  • Supervise cash control and bank deposits.
  • Assist in ensuring team members follow proper food safety procedures and safe handling and storage practices in compliance with state and federal food safety regulations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional presence.
  • Assist in addressing personnel, customer, and facility concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure store standards are maintained through daily execution of cleanliness, in-stock conditions, and fast, friendly customer service.
  • Support effective scheduling practices, daily management of labor exceptions, and adherence to weekly labor budgets, including overtime management.
  • Ensure completion of all required team member training.
  • Ensure all food products are properly stored, code dated, and maintained at appropriate temperatures, whether cooked or stored.
  • Uphold company policies and assist with performance management as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining required records related to merchandise, personnel, and fuel operations.
  • Attend management meetings and required training sessions.
  • Teach, coach, train, and represent the F.I.R.S.T. engagement model.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
  • Directly supervise 4 to 16 employees at the assigned Pump & Pantry location.
