Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in benefits consulting, account management, or a related client service role within an insurance brokerage or benefits administration environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and COBRA, as well as regulatory requirements including ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
  • Proven ability to manage complex accounts, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of an organization in client-facing situations.
  • Ability to present clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and comfort working with data, billing, and vendor reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Active Texas Life, Accident & Health License.
Responsibilities
  • Own client satisfaction and retention and serve as the primary client contact for strategic issues.
  • Manage client timelines and workflow checklists and coordinate account teams and vendors to meet milestones.
  • Monitor service quality and resolve escalated issues with carriers, third-party administrators, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with client decision-makers, human resources and benefits teams, and C-suite sponsors.
  • Analyze plan data and present performance, financial and risk reports, and renewal projections.
  • Recommend plan design, funding arrangements including stop-loss, and vendor solutions aligned with client strategy and trend management.
  • Lead pre-renewal planning, request-for-proposal and renewal strategy, vendor negotiations, and final renewal recommendations.
  • Oversee implementation, installation, and enrollment activities and ensure smooth transitions from renewal to execution.
  • Track account revenue and collaborate with Producers on fees, commissions, and growth opportunities.
  • Support requests for proposals, finalist presentations, and Marsh McLennan Agency marketing events.
  • Represent Marsh McLennan Agency externally at conferences and community events.
  • Maintain market knowledge and carrier, third-party administrator, and vendor relationships and required professional licenses.
  • Serve as an internal subject-matter expert and coach and mentor account-team members and support their development.
