  • Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant.
  • A current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as determined by the job location.
  • Physician Assistants must hold current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the specified durations; frequently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 pounds; rarely lift, carry, and push objects up to 75 pounds; and frequently stoop, bend, reach, handle, grasp, twist, and turn.
  • Ability to perceive objects through touch and to hear, see, and speak as required for clinical conversations, procedures, lectures, and presentations.
Responsibilities
  • Provide healthcare services to patients under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician, including medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, referrals, diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription.
  • Advocate for patients and participate in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assess, treat, counsel, and educate patients and their families.
  • Evaluate patients and perform physical examinations, including obtaining, studying, and updating medical histories.
  • Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering radiologic and laboratory diagnostic tests and accurately interpreting test results.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement patient management and treatment plans based on assessed needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate patient care with healthcare professionals and institutions.
  • Provide high-quality healthcare based on best-practice and evidence-based medicine.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures aligned with granted clinical privileges.
  • Conduct live, interactive virtual-care clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments through the St. Luke's virtual-care platform when requested, including care coordination and escalation when appropriate.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, personal networks, professional societies, and required continuing medical education.
  • Participate in the research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical management guidelines.
  • Teach multidisciplinary students and physician residents and fellows while ensuring a positive educational environment.
  • Participate in Advanced Practitioner student clinical-rotation preceptorship when assigned.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and outcomes, customer and service improvement, operational systems and processes, and safety as appropriate.
  • Use the electronic medical record competently, maintain current medical-record documentation, and document professional services to support optimal billing.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently and demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Perform routine health-maintenance activities for new and established patients.
  • Coordinate patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies when appropriate.
  • Teach wellness habits and educate patients about prevention and management of health problems, providing relevant health-care information and materials.
  • Provide occupational-health services in the urgent-care setting, including pre-employment physicals, injury care, and workers' compensation cases and follow-ups.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as an Advanced Practitioner is strongly preferred.
