Zeon Corporation has invested in Vancouver-based Sanctuary AI through its venture capital arm Zeon Ventures and formed a partnership to develop specialised materials for dexterous robotics. The investment amount and valuation were not disclosed. Sanctuary AI develops general-purpose robots with human-level dexterity using proprietary miniaturised hydraulic actuators and high-fidelity tactile sensing. The company's systems combine near-human touch capabilities with its Physical AI platform to achieve sub-millimetre precision for industrial applications. Zeon will leverage its elastomeric material expertise and testing capabilities to support Sanctuary AI's product development as it moves towards commercial deployment. The partnership aligns with Zeon's Medium-Term Business Plan, which targets growth areas including mobility and healthcare to comprise 48% of total sales by fiscal 2028.
Nexera Robotics, based in Vancouver, secured $4.5 million from BDC Capital’s Industrial Innovation Venture Fund, Defined, and RiSC Capital.
