Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in public service administration, psychology, sociology, or social work or a human service programmatic field, from an appropriately accredited institution

Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and planning an ability to communicate effectively with researchers, professional and administrative personnel.
  • Attend key meetings and track follow up items.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development of briefing materials in preparation of speeches, talking points, slides, emails, and memos.
  • Conduct literature reviews and research as needed to inform programmatic opportunities.
  • Support SCHS publications and special studies to address emerging Public Health topics.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for case escalations.
  • Evaluate cancer incidence and mortality to evaluate the cancer burden.
  • Identify priority populations for early detection, prevention and control of cancer.
  • Investigate unusual patterns of cancer across the state.
  • Assist in the establishment of goals, objectives, and timelines for key cross functional programs and initiatives that advance the Department’s strategic plan.
  • Support ascertainment of cancer diagnosis for case completeness.
  • Support outreach efforts to advance health and improve outcomes for people.
  • Serve as a liaison between programs involved in a special project or strategic initiative.
  • Address SCHS programs’ gaps in their process to enhance efficiency; enhance cooperation between programs across SCHS.
