Responsibilities
  • Design & Deploy Logistics Solutions: Collaborate with customers to understand their delivery needs, order flows, and operational constraints—and translate that into scalable product configurations.
  • Drive Product Outcomes: Act as a voice of the customer, using feedback and insights to shape features, workflows, and internal tooling. Collaborate tightly with engineering to evolve our delivery platform.
  • Own High-Impact Implementations: Manage onboarding and expansion for our most important accounts—ensuring the product is deployed smoothly and optimized for performance.
  • Bridge Tech & Ops: Work with our operations team and delivery partners to troubleshoot edge cases, build workflows for complex scenarios, and ensure reliability at scale.
  • Influence Roadmap: Identify and advocate for features that increase volume, improve delivery reliability, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Represent Nash: Lead customer conversations, demos, and strategic planning sessions, especially when launching new delivery models or regions.

We are based in SF. About the role. As a SeniorBackend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and building Nash's backend systems, services, and APIs. You'll work closely with the CTO, co-founder, and engineering and product team to scale our platform, optimize performance, and develop robust, scalable infrastructure that powers seamless logistics operations. This is a great opportunity to join Nash at an exciting time as we build products across the logistics value chain for enterprises, marketplaces, and SMBs. Responsibilities. * Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs. * Architect and implement efficient data structures and models * Optimize and improve system performance, scalability, and security. * Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues in production environments. * Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to build seamless API integrations. * Ensure system reliability by implementing observability, monitoring, and logging best practices. * Work independently and collaboratively to solve complex technical challenges. * Advocate for best practices in documentation, testing, and maintainability. Requirements. * 4+ years of experience building and shipping scalable backend systems. * Strong Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks. * Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and databases (PostgreSQL, AWS RDS). * Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and deployment best practices, including managed services (serverless, databases, queues) and CI/CD pipelines. * Deep knowledge of scalable system design and performance optimization. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. * Startup experience is a plus, but not required. * Strong preference for Bay Area - Nash operates a hybrid first product team with an office in San Francisco * Bonus: Experience with AsyncIO, event-driven architectures, or integration-heavy systems. This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on closing complex, high-value deals and shaping how our most important customers adopt Nash's AI-powered logistics infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in our founding APAC team, with a primary focus on enterprise retailers in Australia and New Zealand. You will leverage our technical edge, agility, and grit to drive further success as we scale across the region. This role reports to our General Manager, APAC working closely with our global sales and commercial leadership. Your passion and expertise will help us build the Nash brand and further accelerate our rapid expansion. This is a full-cycle role with support from marketing, product, and data, and your work will help customers evolve from fragmented delivery workflows to unified, intelligent logistics infrastructure. Key responsibilities. * Build and manage a complex sales pipeline from scratch, focusing on high-value, enterprise-level deals. This includes identifying, prospecting, demoing, negotiating, and closing deals with a strategic approach. * Develop and execute a high-touch playbook for each target account that leverages a strong outbound motion, strategic networking, and targeted messaging to engage and convert key enterprise accounts. * Establish and grow relationships with enterprise companies in the grocery, convenience, pharmaceutical, and retail industries, positioning Nash as a trusted partner in their delivery operations. * Lead the technical scoping process to understand and map client needs to Nash's technical capabilities, customizing solutions to address specific challenges and deliver measurable value. * Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to align Nash's offerings with customer needs.
