Requirements
  • A minimum high school diploma or certified equivalency is required.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish fluency in speaking, reading, and writing is preferred.
  • CSR I typically requires up to one year of teller or cash-handling experience in a busy retail environment involving mathematical cash-payment and cash-receipt duties.
  • CSR II typically requires one to two and a half years of teller or strong cash-handling experience in a busy retail environment involving mathematical cash-payment and cash-receipt duties.
  • CSR III typically requires two and a half or more years of teller experience in a financial institution or centralized vault environment involving mathematical cash-payment and cash-receipt duties.
  • The candidate must demonstrate and maintain a professional, outgoing, and pleasant demeanor.
  • The candidate must have effective listening and probing skills to identify customer needs and match them with bank products and services.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume cash-handling environment with daily face-to-face customer contact while providing a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Identify customer needs and sell Association products and services that benefit customers.
  • Process a variety of customer financial transactions in accordance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Meet sales and referral goals by identifying and selling current products and services, and maintain current knowledge of new and existing products and services.
  • Support sales objectives and campaigns by cross-selling basic products or referring customers to employees responsible for closing sales.
  • Establish and maintain cash drawer limits according to policy.
  • Extend a courteous greeting and welcome to customers and visitors, and call customers by name at least once during an account transaction.
  • Balance cash drawers and teller transactions accurately and securely within established guidelines.
  • Safeguard money received for the cash drawer and promptly account for or transfer funds to prevent loss.
  • Address customer questions and concerns and refer them to appropriate internal resources for resolution.
  • Perform vault duties as needed, such as ordering and shipping currency and coin and distributing money to tellers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
