Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Experience with the full life cycle of aircraft electrical harness design, qualification, production, and product support
  • Experience in the EV automotive or electric aviation industry
  • Experience designing electrical wiring for high-power, 600+ VDC distribution systems
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies
  • Experience with vehicle checkout and testing
  • Familiarity with wiring and cable bundle thermal management installation considerations
  • Strong ability to identify and communicate risks and drive issues to closure

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Powertrain and other Air Vehicle teams to develop electrical system requirements
  • Translate requirements into system distribution architecture, layout, and design, including bonding and grounding
  • Design and size cable bundles, wire harnesses, and wire routing to industry standards
  • Select aerospace connectors and EMI cable shielding to ensure safety and system separation requirements are met
  • Design to industry standards and using wiring design toolboxes within CATIA
  • Develop 2D wiring schematics and 3D installation drawings
  • Perform voltage drop analysis, thermal performance, and electrical loads analysis
  • Work with the flight tech team to define efficiencies calculations and weight management
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure successful program execution and compliance with requirements
  • Participate in multi-functional working groups to identify optimal routing of power distribution cables
  • Hands-on abilities with harness build, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 10% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned
