Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, or business discipline is required.
  • At least 10 years of prior relevant experience, including at least 5 years leading architecture teams or programs at the enterprise level, is required.
  • At least 5 years of prior relevant public cloud experience on Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, including direct accountability for enterprise cloud strategy, is required.
  • Experience leading enterprise architecture programs, including application portfolio rationalization, integration strategy, and vendor consolidation.
  • A track record of partnering with executive stakeholders and influencing technology investment decisions.
  • Experience presenting architecture strategy and trade-offs to senior leadership and translating technical decisions into business outcomes for non-technical audiences.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, integration patterns, and cloud platform strategy across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and on-premise environments.
  • Strong technical depth in infrastructure as code, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, continuous integration and continuous delivery, configuration management, and DevOps practices.
  • Working knowledge of network and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol routing, directory services including Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, and Security Assertion Markup Language, backup and disaster recovery, and information technology security and compliance in public cloud environments.
  • Understanding of cloud financial management, observability, and governance.
  • Familiarity with Agile and product-oriented delivery methodologies.
  • Experience in the Armed Forces may be included.
  • Satisfaction of Sysmex customer credentialing requirements, generally including proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and COVID-19.

Responsibilities
  • Own the enterprise architecture strategy and information technology roadmap, including solution design standards, integration frameworks, and technology direction across software, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
  • Be accountable for financial review and approval of architecture investments.
  • Direct the Architecture Review Board and set governance and decision rights aligned with the Product Design and Development Process, cybersecurity requirements, and financial oversight.
  • Lead the consolidated team of architects and define architecture principles, reference architectures, and statements of position governing how technology is built, purchased, and integrated.
  • Own the talent strategy for the architecture function, including workforce planning, hiring, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Build the bench of architecture leaders needed to support enterprise growth.
  • Own strategic third-party relationships across architecture.
  • Negotiate and approve Statements of Work, master agreements, and managed-service contracts that meet business requirements and deliver measurable value.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders across information technology, Product, Customer Care, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance, and Cybersecurity to align architecture decisions with enterprise strategy and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Define and report key performance indicators measuring architecture program performance.
  • Ensure architecture decisions and artifacts are documented for audit and compliance.
  • Partner with Information Technology Operations, Testing, Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance, and Customer Support Services to validate that delivered solutions meet customer and functional requirements.
  • Drive a security-first approach in the architecture function.
  • Review solution designs, integration patterns, and vendor selections against cybersecurity standards, data protection requirements, and regulatory obligations including HIPAA and HiTrust.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to close audit and risk findings.
  • Define enterprise data and integration architecture in partnership with the database administrator function and product leadership.
  • Set standards for canonical data, master data, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture so data flows consistently across the application portfolio.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in technology, engineering, or business discipline is preferred.
  • Cloud Solution Architect Professional or Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure is preferred.
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a regulated healthcare environment, including HIPAA and HiTrust, is preferred.
