Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of client service experience in benefits brokerage and insurance, benefits consulting, or benefits administration.
  • A Life and Health License is preferred; if not licensed, the employee must obtain it within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer service and maintain positive relationships with client contacts.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Create and update client activity logs.
  • Coordinate plan audits and review plan documents, including insurance contracts, amendments, Summary Plan Descriptions, and other documents, to ensure compliance and appropriate documentation.
  • Review and complete renewal checklists for assigned clients.
  • Complete the MMA compliance checklist with support from the Compliance Department and proactively review it with the client.
  • Coordinate and support needs generated by the Compliance Department, including reviewing Form 5500 data requests.
  • Interpret plan documents with minimal input from others to answer client questions.
  • Manage Open Enrollment activities, including drafting communications such as benefit guides, highlight sheets, and posters or postcards using templated documents.
  • Organize and conduct virtual or onsite Open Enrollment meetings for employees.
  • Set up and maintain client contacts and mailing lists in the BenefitPoint management system.
  • Create and maintain online folders and files for clients.
  • Coordinate special projects, including dependent eligibility audits, claim audits, and benefits statements.
  • Work directly with carriers to resolve disputed claim, billing, and eligibility issues for clients and participants.
  • Manage the issue-resolution process, meet quality and timing objectives, communicate resolution issues effectively, and escalate complex issues to senior team members when needed.
  • Coordinate Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage determinations and testing and generate and distribute participant notices to clients.
  • Generate and distribute Federal Annual Notice packets to clients.
  • Assist clients with data needed for RxDC plan-year reporting.
  • Track and update stop-loss reimbursements due to clients, including year-end stop-loss reconciliation when applicable.
  • Conduct benchmarking analysis for assigned clients.
  • Analyze the impact of new federal and state regulations on clients' benefit plans and provide guidance to clients.
  • Make decisions concerning Open Enrollment timing and procedures and draft Open Enrollment timelines.
  • Coordinate and conduct Open Enrollment meetings, including drafting presentations and narrated PowerPoint materials when applicable.
  • Travel to and participate in onsite meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Manage vendor relationships and activities during plan changes and ongoing service.
  • Manage and prioritize work requests.

US employers plan 3.2% merit pay rises for 2027 amid economic uncertainty

US employers plan to maintain moderate salary increases in 2027, according to Marsh's Mercer QuickPulse survey of 1,001 organisations. Base salary merit increases are projected at 3.2%, with total salary increases at 3.5%, marking four consecutive years of similar rates. Economic uncertainty continues influencing compensation decisions, with 57% of employers expecting at least moderate impact. High Tech (3.8%), Banking (3.7%), and Energy (3.6%) lead in merit budgets, whilst Consumer Goods (2.9%) and Healthcare (3.0%) lag behind. Employers expect to promote 8.4% of their workforce in 2027, down from 8.6% in 2026. Off-cycle salary adjustments remain common, with 64% of organisations providing them. AI adoption in compensation planning is growing, with 70% of organisations reporting some automation, primarily for market pricing recommendations and benchmarking.

Marsh reported Q1 revenue of $7.6 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year, beating the consensus estimate of $7.38 billion by 2.88%. Earnings per share came in at $3.29, compared to $3.06 in the prior-year quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of $3.21 by 2.46%. Key metrics showed mixed performance against analyst expectations. Consolidated organic revenue growth of 5% exceeded the 3.5% estimate, whilst consulting organic growth of 5% topped the 4.4% forecast. However, Guy Carpenter's organic growth of 2% fell short of the 4.2% estimate. Geographically, Marsh's EMEA division generated $1.21 billion in revenue, up 14.1% year-over-year and beating estimates. Mercer consulting revenue reached $1.66 billion, an 11% increase that surpassed the $1.58 billion consensus.
