Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to wear a respirator
  • RC-14001 or similar management systems
  • Certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM)
  • Industrial hygiene and emergency response programs
Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with SI Group Cardinal Rules and support implementation of corporate EHS policies, programs, and initiatives
  • Promote and ensure the health, safety, and security of all employees and contractors
  • Support and promote safety programs, including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Energized Electrical Safety
  • Develop, maintain, and improve EHS policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to enhance EHS performance and company reputation
  • Provide technical guidance on safety, industrial hygiene, health, and Emergency Response Team (ERT) operations
  • Foster a positive safety culture by supporting site safety teams and engaging employees in safe work practices
  • Facilitate and/or Participate in emergency response activities
  • Conduct inspections of critical safety equipment and maintain inspection records
  • Manage procurement and inventory of EHS equipment (e.g., fall protection, gas monitors)
  • Manage site LMS
  • Prepare and issue permits for Confined Space Entry; support training and auditing for LOTO, Hot Work, Energized Electrical Work, and Crane Safety permits
  • Review LOTO processes, procedures, and applicable drawings in support of safe operations
  • Perform and support EHS inspections and audits
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including respirators and ERT gear
  • Support Responsible Care® (RC-14001) management system requirements and guiding principles
  • Lead industrial hygiene monitoring activities and maintain related equipment
  • Identify and source appropriate PPE based on task-specific hazards
  • Maintain accurate records, update SOPs, and support documentation and data entry requirements
  • Develop and implement EHS training programs to meet regulatory and site-specific requirements
  • Ensure timely completion of employee and contractor training
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements
  • Identify and track ongoing training needs across the site
  • Manage LMS; may include design, deliver, and documenting training programs
  • Maintain contractor training programs to ensure compliance
  • Support internal and external audits related to EHS and training programs

SI Group has promoted Robert Kaiser to senior vice president, strategic marketing, a role in which he will also join the company's executive leadership team. Kaiser joined SI Group in 2014 and has since held leadership positions of increasing responsibility across strategic marketing and business development. The company said he has played a key role in shaping its portfolio and market strategy, and in driving cross-functional alignment on critical growth initiatives. Before joining SI Group, Kaiser held commercial leadership roles at AkzoNobel and Arizona Chemical, now part of Kraton Corporation. David Bradley, president and chief executive officer of SI Group, said Kaiser has consistently demonstrated exceptional strategic leadership and a deep understanding of the company's markets. SI Group, a global manufacturer of performance additives and chemical intermediates, has completed a comprehensive recapitalisation that reduces its net debt by approximately $1.7 billion, representing over 80% of its outstanding indebtedness. The transaction, supported by lenders and equity partners, includes amendments to the company's revolving credit facility to enhance financial flexibility. A new institutional ownership group has invested $150 million in junior capital, demonstrating confidence in SI Group's prospects. The Woodlands, Texas-based company will use the investment to fund working capital needs, operational initiatives and growth acceleration.
