Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is required.
  • Previous experience in administration is preferred, including work with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Sign.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to follow established procedures independently is required.
  • Previous experience using Workday software and PeopleSoft is desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Assist chairpersons in the Physics and Mathematics departments with preparing semester course schedules and faculty teaching responsibilities.
  • Enter faculty compensation forms.
  • Record and submit all grade changes and withdrawals.
  • Act as a liaison between students and faculty.
  • Serve as the main contact for Physics and Mathematics majors.
  • Maintain the budget for both departments.
  • Prepare and distribute appointment letters.
  • Collect and store final grades and syllabi.
  • Coordinate interviews for new faculty members and process employment paperwork.
  • Promote departmental events by posting flyers and notices near the Mathematics and Physics offices.
  • Maintain classroom supplies, monitor supply levels, and coordinate timely reordering with the secretary.
  • Perform other Mathematics and Physics departmental duties as assigned by the chairs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous administrative experience, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Sign.
