Recursion uses hardware, software, and data to accelerate drug discovery in the TechBio space, running thousands of wet-lab experiments weekly to profile genes and compounds across many cell types. It combines a massive proprietary dataset (about 50 petabytes) with a powerful computing platform, BioHive 1, to map billions of gene–compound relationships and generate actionable drug candidates. Its approach blends high-throughput experimentation with large-scale data science to create learning loops and partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and healthcare providers. Its goal is to decode biology at scale and discover and commercialize medicines that can improve patient lives.

Recursion Pharmaceuticals shares fall 4.2% as Q2 revenue drops 60% to $7.67M

Total revenues fell 60% year-over-year to $7.67 million, missing the $14 million estimate. The decline stemmed from lower collaboration revenues with Roche and Genentech following completion of certain project phases. Research and development expenses decreased 30% to $89.6 million, reflecting lower platform costs and improved efficiency. General and administrative expenses fell 11% to $41.5 million. The company held $556.8 million in cash as of 30 June, down from $665.2 million at quarter-end March. Recursion expects current cash reserves to fund operations into early 2028. August 5, 2026 san francisco biotechnology network news news, syndication comments off on Recursion partners with Genentech to advance first validated neuro target discovered through AI map. The 4.5 year, up-to-$12 billion artificial intelligence (AI) drug discovery collaboration of Recursion, Roche, and its Genentech subsidiary marked a milestone Wednesday when plans were announced for Recursion and Genentech to co-develop a neuroscience small molecule early discovery program based on the first validated target discovered through an AI map they created to find new targets in a long-challenging therapeutic area. Genentech has exercised the collaboration's first validated target option after accepting from Recursion a validation package for the target. That acceptance will trigger a $3 million milestone payment from the biopharma giants to Recursion. That latest payment raises to $216 million the total cash paid out by the biopharma giants to Recursion since the AI-based drug developer joined with the pharma giant and its subsidiary to launch their partnership in 2021.
