Requirements
  • A bachelor's or associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience in healthcare accounts receivable management, claims processing, and medical terminology training are required.
  • Strong ability to co-manage in a multi-site/state environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and understand the flow of data through systems and system interaction.
  • Working experience with 270/271, 276/277, and 835/837 files.
  • Epic experience required.
Responsibilities
  • Hold self and team members accountable for meeting performance expectations.
  • Assist in setting and maintaining department standards.
  • Assist with one-on-one and general staff meetings.
  • Assist with training and remediation as needed.
  • Support leadership in overseeing designated domestic and offshore Revenue Cycle Management staff to ensure functions are completed within established timeframes.
  • Work with staff to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy.
  • Maintain working knowledge of upstream and downstream processes.
  • Improve departmental processes by emphasizing quality and efficiency and identifying and removing bottlenecks.
  • Prepare reports for various departments and leadership.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems using sound judgment.
  • Report audit metrics for employees to monitor accuracy and productivity rates.
  • Identify trends and root causes related to inaccurate insurance billing and report them to the manager while resolving account errors.
  • Conduct team meetings to educate staff on insurance guidelines, claim denials, and retraining efforts.
  • Investigate escalated insurance billing inquiries and inaccuracies and take appropriate action to resolve accounts.
  • Stay current with reimbursement billing procedures of third-party payors.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current durable medical equipment products and services offered by the company.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Select and hire qualified staff, ensure effective onboarding, provide comprehensive training, and provide regular feedback.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; and develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Establish annual departmental goals and objectives based on the organization's strategic goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
