- Java is the primary language with other languages also preferred; must have Spring, Cloud, Docker and container experience.
- Experience level: 3-5 years, but can be flexible.
- There will be testing responsibilities; candidate should work with Product Owner to help define specifications.
- Work will involve 60% coding, 20% testing/automation, and 20% helping with infrastructure.
- Focus on building high performance services and identifying bottlenecks; candidate should know how to optimize experience and performance.
- Build services, ideally robust services.
- Help build new features for a server side ad insertion product.
- Work on both live and video-on-demand streams; contribute to the Front End reflector service.
- Decide whether certain content can be watched by end users.
- Collaborate to deliver end user video performance at immense scale (up to 1000 transactions per second and one million concurrent users).
- AWS familiarity for infrastructure and deployment is helpful.
- Experience with databases is not required but could be useful; not using databases is noted, but any database experience is desirable if present.
- Video and/or Advertising experience is a plus.
- Containerizing in Docker and deploying on Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience with not using SOAP or REST; using Git requests with URLs and HLS is a notable approach; any related experience is desirable.
- Other languages beyond Java are preferred but not required; knowledge of Spring and Cloud is important.
