Requirements
  • A minimum of 5+ years of project management experience in electrical substations, utility, or medium- and high-voltage construction.
  • A strong understanding of electrical substations, medium- and high-voltage systems, relay and protection systems, power distribution, and civil and structural coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with project scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple substation construction projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and manpower plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and regular progress meetings with customers and project teams.
  • Review contracts, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders.
  • Monitor project costs and maintain profitability.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and equipment procurement.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and long-lead equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with field supervision to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Track project progress and provide regular financial and operational reporting.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Support estimating efforts and preconstruction activities as needed.
  • Ensure timely project closeout, including as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and final documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with EPC or utility substation projects.
  • PMP certification, preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Knowledge of NECA, NESC, NEC, and utility standards.
