Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic solar and/or alternative energy markets.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work from heights, on ladders, or lift equipment.
  • On-call availability and daily on-site presence are required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze utility and commercial photovoltaic plants, inverters, and associated site equipment in the field.
  • Develop a working knowledge of SMA commercial inverter products, associated SMA accessories, third-party accessories, and site-specific equipment.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of photovoltaic plant operations, design, and basis of operations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical and safety codes, including National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, and National Electrical Safety Code.
  • Work regularly with high-voltage direct-current electricity, three-phase alternating-current power, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition or third-party monitoring systems, and the relevant software and firmware of inverter and site equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while striving to lower service costs.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the solar energy industry.
  • Operations and maintenance field experience.
  • An associate's degree in a technical field, or equivalent apprentice/journeyman training in electrical or photovoltaic work with at least 2 years of experience.
  • German and/or Spanish language skills.
  • Periodic domestic and international travel may be required.
