Resideo Technologies (NYSE: REZI) ADI Global Distribution spin-off: what investors need to know before the Mid-July Separation.

Resideo Technologies (NYSE: REZI) ADI Global Distribution spin-off: what investors need to know before the Mid-July Separation. 11 July 2026 06:37 AM PDT Summarize with AI You are reading a free article with opinions that may differ from the recommendation given by Kalkine in its paid research reports. Become a Kalkine member today to get access to its research reports, in-depth technical and fundamental research. Learn more Key Highlights * Mid-July Separation Creates Two Distinct Standalone Public Companies: The imminent separation will result in two independently traded companies with distinct business profiles, capital structures, and investor bases. * Investor Days for Both Entities Will Define Post-Separation Strategic Narratives: Dedicated presentations for each standalone company will provide the forward strategic vision needed to attract appropriate institutional ownership mandates. * Russell Growth Index Inclusions Added Pre-Spinoff Passive Exposure: Late-June Russell growth index additions increased the passive fund base just before the structural separation creates two new investable entities from one. Resideo Technologies' (NYSE: REZI) impending ADI Global Distribution spin-off - expected to complete by mid-July - represents one of the most significant structural corporate events in the building products and security distribution sector of 2026, creating two independent publicly traded companies from a combined entity that institutional investors have argued was undervalued as a conglomerate. The two businesses being separated have fundamentally different profiles. The continuing Resideo Technologies entity is a products company with branded HVAC controls, security, and home comfort products that carry higher margins and are valued on growth and profitability metrics typical of specialty industrial manufacturers. ADI Global Distribution is a large-scale product distribution business with lower margins, higher capital intensity, and a business model valued on distribution efficiency and scale economics. These different profiles typically attract different institutional investors with different mandates. When two different business types are combined in a single company, neither profile can be optimized: the distribution business constrains the margin expansion trajectory of the products business, while the products business creates management distraction from the operational discipline required to run a high-efficiency distribution operation. Separation allows each business to attract the appropriate capital allocation, management incentive structure, and investor base - theoretically creating more total value than the combined entity captured. The dedicated investor days scheduled for both entities post-separation are commercially critical. Each company will need to establish an independent equity story - articulating its specific competitive advantages, growth strategy, financial targets, and capital return framework - to attract the institutional ownership needed to support a healthy market for its shares as a standalone entity. The recent Russell growth index additions are strategically timed relative to the spin-off. Passive fund exposure acquired before the spin-off will be allocated between the two successor entities based on the distribution mechanics of the separation, potentially creating new passive fund demand for whichever entity joins the relevant Russell growth index as a standalone company. FAQs. Q: What are the two companies being created by the Resideo spin-off? A: Resideo Technologies (NYSE: REZI) is separating into two independent companies: the continuing Resideo Technologies entity - a branded products company focused on HVAC controls, security, and home comfort products - and ADI Global Distribution, an independent products distribution business serving professional installers across security, AV, networking, and HVAC markets. Each will be independently publicly traded after the mid-July separation completes. Q: Why do spin-offs typically unlock value relative to the combined company? A: Spin-offs like Resideo Technologies' (NYSE: REZI) separation of ADI Global Distribution create value by allowing each business to attract institutional investors with appropriate mandates, optimizing capital allocation and management incentive structures for each business type, and enabling each company to be valued on its own specific financial metrics without the blending effect that combines their different margin and growth profiles into a single entity. Q: How do the Russell growth index inclusions affect the Resideo spin-off? A: Resideo Technologies' (NYSE: REZI) late-June additions to multiple Russell growth indexes increased the passive fund base holding the stock before the separation. When the spin-off completes, the passive fund exposure will be distributed between the two successor entities according to the separation mechanics, potentially creating new passive demand for the components that join relevant Russell index families as independent companies. Halozyme's drug delivery tech outshines struggling beauty brand Olaplex and home products maker Resideo

Halozyme Therapeutics, a small-cap biotech company known for its ENHANZE technology that transforms hours-long intravenous infusions into minutes-long subcutaneous injections, has been identified as a stock worth watching for long-term investors. The company has a market capitalisation of $7.53 billion. In contrast, two small-cap stocks appear less promising. Olaplex, the TikTok-famous hair care brand, has seen revenue decline 15.6% annually over the past three years, with earnings per share falling faster than revenue. The company trades at 23.1x forward P/E. Resideo Technologies, a manufacturer of home comfort and security products, has demonstrated flat earnings per share over five years despite revenue growth, with declining free cash flow margins and eroding returns on capital.
