Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • A Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
  • At least 6 years of experience working as part of a corporate accounting team is required, including experience managing audits of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles-based financial statements.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word, is required.
  • A detailed understanding of enterprise resource planning accounting software such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting department operations, including designing an organizational structure adequate to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
  • Assist with publishing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure compliance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Manage accounting staff for delegated tasks, set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and schedule employee performance reviews.
  • Support external and internal audit processes and ensure accuracy and compliance with financial statement audits.
  • Comply with and file applicable taxes and ensure compliance with city, state, and local tax and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain and enforce appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Act as the financial liaison for provider members, owners, managers, and administrative staff.
  • Provide customer service to provider members by email, phone, and in person regarding monthly reporting, payments, and fees.
  • Identify, organize, and execute process-improvement projects to identify areas for efficiency, growth, and revenue gains.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in the healthcare, medical billing, or an equivalent industry is highly preferred.
