We are looking for Software Engineers who enjoy solving problems on the backend. In this role, you will be building features, designing and implementing APIs, and improving the overall application architecture and health as we continue our rapid growth. You will lead technical discussions and help drive decisions within your team. You will write understandable, idiomatic, testable code with an eye towards maintainability. You will exhibit superb communication skills, leading through ego-free influence. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you.
Our stack consists of a mixture of modern web app technologies running in the cloud, including Ruby/Rails, Python, and Javascript/TypeScript/React. We store and push data around using Postgresql, PySpark, Databricks, Prefect, and Kafka.
You will be a member of the Technology team, reporting to one of our software engineeringmanagers.
Responsibilities:
- You will learn the domain well enough to converse fluently with stakeholders and deeply understand the features to build
- You will author clean, readable, idiomatic code that efficiently addresses our problems to solve
- You’ll collaborate with your team to design, build, and maintain our growing technology platform
- You will actively own, implement and maintain features
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience building, scaling, and maintaining cloud-based web apps
- You have hands-on experience with Ruby/Rails, Javascript/TypeScript, Python, Golang, or other modern stacks.
- You have some professional experience with databases.
- You possess strong software computer science and software engineering fundamentals.
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a graduate degree is a plus
