We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Reliability Technician to join our dynamic Maintenance Team. This role is critical to maintaining and improving the reliability and efficiency of our plant operations. The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused, hands-on individual with comprehensive knowledge of various equipment and their functions within a manufacturing environment. As a Reliability Tech, you will be the technical expert and a key coach for our business support team, spending a significant portion of your time performing maintenance tasks and directly contributing to the site’s operational success. In this role you will coordinate efforts and resources within your team and across other functions to achieve shared objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
· Assist with incoming maintenance work orders, set priorities and partner with shift leads to assign workloads to the appropriate technicians.
· Make sure effective pass downs are done at the beginning and end of shifts with appropriate shifts Leads.
· Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
· Assist with training initiatives such as New Hire Orientation.
· Provide technical training for the maintenance team as well as production where necessary.
· Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to increase availability and drive productivity.
· Lead the installation, alignment, and startup of new equipment along with critical spare and CMMS requirements.
· Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
· Communicate with external technical support teams and outside technicians on equipment status and repairs.
· Use appropriate PPE, LOTO, and act in accordance with SBD EHS rules and regulations.
· Work proactively with Managers, Supervisors and other Team Leads in the plant to resolve any issues.
· Perform equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
· Assist with maintenance-controlled areas by keeping them clean and organized at the end of shift, work with Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, and other Team Leads on housekeeping issues.
· Improve and sustain 5S program.
· Support Lean & Kaizen initiatives, driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement ideas.
· Serve as technical interface for product testing, quality concerns, and equipment/process issues.
· Ensure effective associate relations through efficient communication skills to promote a “TEAM” environment.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education Required:
· HS Diploma or GED Equivalent, College or Technical School highly preferred
Work Experience Required:
· 7 years performing various complex maintenance duties or tasks.
· 5 years managing maintenance resources to complete tasked items
Skills & Knowledge Required:
· Must have excellent motivational, leadership, and communication skills and the ability to train
· Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and CMMS systems.
· Proficient knowledge of Hydraulics and hydraulic systems
· Proficient knowledge of all power types, including 3 phase and control power
·Ability to read and draw electrical schematics along with general PLC knowledge.
· Proficient knowledge of CNC equipment and the sub systems that make up the equipment.
· Proficient knowledge of batch equipment, as in plating, vibratory, heat treat and induction equipment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands
· Required to lift and/or move 10 lbs regularly and up to 33 lbs occasional
· Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, strong fumes, loud noises, and occasionally extreme temperatures
