Viam’s products are built for engineers expecting a world-class user experience. We want to build a platform we would want to use ourselves. We are looking for students studying or interested in fields related to Design (anything from Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or Visual Communications, etc..) to collaborate with our full time Product Designers on building high-quality, accessible User Interfaces, and creating the future of robots. 

You’ll be:

• Collaborating with the product design team to research and understand user needs and behaviors in order to develop new design concepts and improve existing products.
• Assisting with the creation of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to help communicate design ideas and solutions
• Working closely with the product, marketing, and engineering teams to develop & execute plan for one of the new features or redesigns we plan to release during the summer
• Researching the robotics and SaaS industries and identifying commonly design patterns and best practices

We’re looking for someone:

• In the process of receiving a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design or related field, with at least one additional term after the end of the internship
• Available to intern in person at our New York City office for 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2023
• Genuinely curious about the intersection of hardware, software, and design. We don’t require prior knowledge of robots for this internship, but we are looking for people who are looking to learn.
