Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in aerospace engine industrialization, manufacturing, or operations is required, including strong knowledge of engine components, materials, and manufacturing and testing processes.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project or program management within a technical and cross-functional environment is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-site or multi-partner projects with strong leadership in change management is required.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with technology readiness level and manufacturing readiness level frameworks, first article inspection and advanced product quality planning processes, and AS9100 and NADCAP quality standards is required.
  • Very good knowledge of English is required for reading technical documentation and terms and for written and verbal communication with international customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional industrialization projects for new engine components, modules, and assembly and test operations across demonstrator programs and archetypes 1–10.
  • Own and manage industrialization project plans from concept through program launch for engines or project closure for demonstrators.
  • Define and track project milestones, resource plans, budgets, and deliverables aligned with engine development schedules.
  • Ensure readiness across component manufacturing, module and engine assembly, and test facility integration.
  • Identify and manage project risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor key performance indicators including technology readiness level, manufacturing readiness level, first article inspection status, process capability, and maturity gates.
  • Support the program cost controller in defining cost baselines and tracking their evolution, and collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and partners to identify cost-efficient design and manufacturing alternatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through advanced product quality planning, Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and program management best practices.
  • Act as the primary interface between Operations and Program Management for Advanced Industrialization topics.
  • Lead integrated product teams and industrial readiness reviews, and support internal and external preliminary and critical design reviews and customer meetings.
  • Escalate and resolve project risks, blockers, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Develop and manage industrialization budgets, including capital expenditures, operating expenditures, digital solutions, and production start-up activities.
  • Support capital expenditure justifications for new equipment, tooling, and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the digital transformation of manufacturing and assembly and test operations, including data integration.
  • Ensure full industrial coverage of critical processes, including casting, forging, machining, coatings, additive manufacturing, module assembly and integration, testing, and data capture systems.
  • Validate product and process maturity to meet program rate, quality, and cost targets.
  • Contribute to make-or-buy decisions and assess supplier, partner, and site readiness while ensuring risk and budget alignment.
  • Ensure Advanced Industrialization Buyers and Industrial Engineers are actively engaged in program integrated product teams at the component, module, and assembly levels.
  • Support integrated product teams in meeting product requirements across design, development, manufacturing, and aftermarket phases as defined by the Program Management Team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
  • Experience with large engine programs in civil or military sectors.
  • Experience developing business cases and managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of digital manufacturing tools, product lifecycle management or manufacturing execution systems, or industrial Internet of Things technologies.
  • Experience managing capital projects involving equipment, facilities, or test beds.
  • Knowledge of additional languages.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level or higher.

Pratt & Whitney invests $25M to expand Poland manufacturing, adding 120 jobs

RTX's Pratt & Whitney is investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland. The site produces complex tubular assemblies for commercial and military engines. The expansion, supported by the Polish government through the Polish Investment Zone Programme, will add more than 120 jobs when it becomes operational in 2028. The facility currently manufactures precision components for multiple engine types, including the GTF engine for commercial aircraft and the F135 for F-35 fighter aircraft. This investment is part of Pratt & Whitney's $125 million commitment to Polish facilities this year, including a $100 million investment in Rzeszow. Poland represents RTX's largest investment base outside the United States, with more than 9,500 employees across its businesses in-country.

RTX's $289 billion backlog splits 60% commercial aerospace and 40% defence, a combination that benefits both divisions. The commercial segment's strong profitability allows the defence business to avoid risky fixed-price development contracts that have troubled competitors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. This flexibility enabled RTX to terminate an unfavourable classified programme in 2024, taking a $575 million charge rather than pursuing losses. CEO Chris Calio said the contract fell outside the company's core competencies and predated RTX's formation. The arrangement works both ways. Defence earnings supported RTX through a costly powder metal coating issue affecting its geared turbofan engine. The structure allows RTX to focus on established defence solutions like Patriot missiles whilst maintaining investment in commercial aerospace during downturns.

RTX's Raytheon wins $22.9B contract to accelerate Tomahawk missile production

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a seven-year, $22.9 billion contract from the US Navy to accelerate production of Tomahawk cruise missiles. The agreement, part of the Department of War's Arsenal of Freedom initiative, will support ramping annual production to over 1,000 missiles. RTX has already tripled Tomahawk deliveries in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The contract will enable the company to expand capacity and work with hundreds of suppliers nationwide to scale output. Tomahawk cruise missiles provide long-range strike capabilities, allowing the Navy to target hostile forces from hundreds of miles away across multiple launch platforms.

RTX's Raytheon demonstrates new unmanned undersea vehicle with 2,000 nautical mile range

Raytheon, an RTX business, and Composite Energy Technologies have successfully demonstrated HADALUS, a new unmanned undersea vehicle, during a US Navy exercise. The 34-foot UUV completed at-sea missions whilst submerged, marking the first time the Navy has witnessed this integrated capability in water. HADALUS features a carbon-fibre design with over 2,000 nautical miles of endurance. The vehicle costs roughly one-third to one-fifth of comparable long-endurance vehicles. The companies progressed from conceptual sketch to working prototype in under 18 months. The demonstration showcased the UUV's ability to perform detect, reacquire, and engage functions within a single mission. "By tightly coupling design, integration and at-sea experimentation, we've proven we can bring new autonomous solutions to the fleet quickly and cost-effectively," said Jen Gauthier, vice president at Raytheon.

RTX's Raytheon installs first SPY-6(V)4 radar array at Wallops Island for US Navy destroyer upgrade

Raytheon, an RTX business, has installed the first SPY-6(V)4 radar array at the Surface Combat Systems Center at Wallops Island, Virginia. The installation marks a milestone for the US Navy's Flight IIA Destroyer modernisation programme. The land-based test facility will support radar testing and power system integration before installation on USS Pinckney (DDG 91), the first ship scheduled for the SPY-6(V)4 backfit from late 2026 to 2028. Testing will begin later this year and continue through mid-2028. SPY-6 variants are already onboard two commissioned Navy ships, with 11 additional vessels undergoing testing. Over the next decade, more than 50 Navy ships are expected to deploy SPY-6 radars. Raytheon has invested $800 million in manufacturing facilities and aims to double production by 2028.
