We are looking for a Product Design Manager who, while primarily focused on management, can roll up their sleeves to review designs and provide clear direction when needed. You will lead a team that’s at the forefront of innovation in GenAI, Sophisticated Analytics, and Investigation workflows, contributing significantly to our Security solution. The successful candidate will oversee the development of the product-design roadmap, mentor and support designers, and ensure the team’s work aligns with the overall security design strategy.
Collaborating with other design managers to align priorities and design approaches, this role will also support the creation and refinement of a broader security design strategy in partnership with the design director. It’s crucial for the manager to maintain a strategic view, yet delve into the details when vital, ensuring timely project execution. Responsibilities include clearing hurdles for the team by offering strategic directions aligned with our overarching design vision. Being a part of our large global UX team, the manager will play a key role in upholding our global UX strategy and promoting design maturity throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Support, influence, and lead the creation and management of the product design roadmap in line with the broader security design strategy.
- Mentor and support designers, helping them to develop their skills and careers
- Work with other design managers to prioritize projects and align design approaches, taking a holistic view of the user experience and ensuring that it is consistent across all products and platforms.
- Manage the team’s work balance to ensure optimal productivity and creativity, while also paying close attention to the details of the design process and the user experience.
- Help execute projects on time by ensuring that the team is meeting milestones and deadlines
- Unblock projects by providing clear tactical directions that are inline with the design strategy
- Dive into details while staying strategic, balancing the need for excellence in execution with the need to be responsive to business needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design is integrated into product development
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in product design management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with managing product design roadmaps and delivering products on time
- Ability to mentor and support designers to help them develop their skills and careers
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and ability to work with stakeholders from multiple departments
- Excellent understanding of design principles, trends, and best practices
- Ability to balance attention to detail with the ability to stay focused on the big picture
Nice-to-haves:
- Understanding and experience designing UIs that handle extensive data.
- Strong background in SaaS platform design and usability.
- Proficiency in creating and improving complex workflow designs.
