Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience building complex event-based automated flows and managing sophisticated segmentation, including predictive analytics and lifetime-value-based cohorts.
  • A proven track record scaling SMS channels such as Attentive, Postscript, or Klaviyo SMS, focused on acquisition through two-step opt-ins and high-return flows.
  • Expert-level understanding of Google Analytics 4 and Shopify Analytics, including analysis of conversion differences between mobile and desktop.
  • Deep familiarity with the Shopify Plus environment and its integrations with third-party tools such as Searchspring.
  • Experience running structured A/B and multivariate tests across subject lines, send times, and flow logic.
  • Experience with Klaviyo, email and SMS lifecycle marketing, segmentation, cross-channel automation, Shopify, Google Analytics 4, and testing.
Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and optimize the end-to-end automated lifecycle journey, including welcome, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post-purchase, and win-back flows.
  • Mine the Shopify database to identify high-value cohorts and deliver relevant messaging to each cohort.
  • Lead collaborative planning by pitching data-informed strategies to the Marketing team, then own the Email and SMS calendars and execute a balance of brand-led product drops and automated revenue activity.
  • Deliver weekly and monthly reports to the Vice President of Digital on revenue per recipient, subscriber growth, and customer retention rates.
  • Audit the path to purchase from email and SMS through mobile landing pages, identifying and resolving user-interface and user-experience friction to improve mobile conversion.

  • Manage list health to maximize reach and inbox placement while addressing internet service provider and carrier requirements.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • April 2026 product pages show active Spring 2026 merchandising and new T-shirts.
  • Wholesale application pages updated in 2026 signal continued B2B selling and retailer outreach.
  • West Hollywood hiring activity suggests Cotton Citizen still supports store and service operations.

What critics are saying

  • ZoomInfo listed only 20 employees in February 2025, signaling thin operating leverage.
  • Career listings in April 2026 focused on customer service, not aggressive expansion hires.
  • If wholesale demand weakens, a small DTC apparel brand faces existential inventory pressure quickly.

What makes Cotton Citizen unique

  • American Dye House keeps design, dyeing, and production under one Los Angeles roof.
  • Spring 2026 pages show fresh women’s and men’s basics, including Supima bottoms.
  • Cotton Citizen still sells premium, hand-dyed staples instead of chasing trend-driven fashion.
