Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Fortell launched AI 2.0 in August 2026, improving every lab metric.
  • Business Wire September 15, 2026 said Fortell hit HearAdvisor’s best 2026 score.
  • Fortell now operates clinics in New York, Greenwich, Palm Beach, and Boston.

What critics are saying

  • Expansion depends on audiologist hiring, and de Jonge called staffing the main bottleneck.
  • FDA MAUDE reports in 2026 documented dome detachments and emergency-room removals.
  • If 2026 clinic expansion stalls, Fortell remains a niche, capital-intensive luxury business.

What makes Fortell unique

  • Fortell’s custom chip and AI software target speech-in-noise, not simple amplification.
  • HearAdvisor’s 2026 testing ranked Fortell first for speech-in-noise and overall sound.
  • Five years of audiological care plus direct clinic fittings create a premium service moat.

Fortell AI hearing aids break independent testing records with 6.0 overall score and 6.4 speech-in-noise rating

Fortell AI Hearing Aids have set new performance records in independent testing by HearAdvisor laboratory. The devices achieved an overall SoundScore of 6.0 and a speech-in-noise score of 6.4, exceeding HearAdvisor's five-point scale and surpassing the previous record of 4.5. HearAdvisor uses standardised, objective testing with acoustic manikins to evaluate hearing aids across five measures: speech in noise, speech in quiet, feedback suppression, own-voice quality, and streamed music quality. Fortell's record speech-in-noise result was achieved using first-fit settings without additional tuning. The company uses custom AI chips delivering 235 times more computing power than conventional hearing aid processors, performing up to 100 billion operations per second with latency under 10 milliseconds. Founded in 2021, Fortell develops prescription AI hearing aids fitted through dedicated clinics and remote-care programmes.
