Outside Analytics develops and deploys software and analytics for national-security space missions, turning raw sensor data into actionable intelligence. Its products cover the full space-domain data lifecycle, including processing, visualization, and testing, for DoD, the Intelligence Community, and commercial space entities. Key offerings are SOFA (a government-owned mission data processing system for the Space Force), Deneir (an extensible ISR and Space Domain Awareness visualization platform), Argus (early detection and tracking for Army drone missions), and Dolos (a digital twin ecosystem for algorithm development with sensor data). The company differentiates itself through a specialized focus on space-domain intelligence, mission-critical, field-ready tools, and deep government relationships, culminating in its acquisition by SMX to expand its footprint in the space market.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • December 2025 FORGE EOS work extends OA’s missile-warning relevance into 2026.
  • The 2024 DAVE and $25 million TAP Lab awards validate OA’s productized software.
  • SMX’s September 2025 C3.ai partnership expands OA’s secure AI deployment pipeline.

What critics are saying

  • OA depends on Space Force programs; a single recompete can cut revenue fast.
  • SciTec controls the 2025 FORGE EOS subcontract; OA lacks prime-contract leverage.
  • SMX integration risks dilute OA culture; talent exits would cripple classified delivery schedules.

What makes Outside Analytics unique

  • Outside Analytics built DAVE and SOFA for Space Force mission-data processing.
  • Ben Tarr still leads OA’s remote-sensing division inside SMX since November 2023.
  • OA’s 80-plus Colorado engineers specialize in real-time processing, visualization, and digital-twin workflows.
