Legal Conflicts Manager, Vice President

Team/Role Overview
The Legal Conflicts Manager sits in the Outside Counsel Management Team within Citi’s Global Legal Solutions (GLS) organization. Primarily, this role will focus on managing Citi’s Legal Conflict Waiver program.
What you’ll do
Primarily, this role will support various initiatives being driven by the Outside Counsel Management Team to support the overall goals and strategy of Citi Legal.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the below:
- Review, analyze, and process legal conflict of interest waiver requests received globally from outside counsel retained by Citi.
- Act as an advisor, as appropriate, to internal Citi attorneys on issues concerning conflicts when escalation is required.
- Interactions and building of relationships with external law firm partners.
- Liaising and interacting with internal stakeholders throughout different areas of Citi business to navigate previous deals as required.
- Launch the re-vamped conflicts process at Citi and continuously look at innovative ways to improve the process.
- Provide training to internal and external stakeholders on updated processes.
- Support with the management and engagement of outside counsel retained by Citi Legal as required.
- Review, draft, and edit outside counsel engagement documents alongside any conflicts related documents.
- Ensure and promote the conflict waiver programme’s compliance with Citi’s outside counsel management policies, procedures, goals, and priorities.
- Support the management and execution of Citi’s Outside Counsel Terms of Engagement regarding sections relevant to conflicts.
The Legal Conflicts Manager will work in close daily collaboration with other GLS teammates at all levels across functions including Finance, Technology, Project Management and Operations while adhering to GLS program goals and priorities, evaluating complex legal and operational issues and impact to Citi businesses and Citi’s broader legal organization.
What we’ll need from you
- JD/Law degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Prior experience in conflicts management, new business intake or a related field.
- Practical knowledge of common legal matter progression (e.g., course of litigation, basic procedure, basic corporate or financial transactions).
- An ability to lead and influence people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment, successful execution of strategies, and an understanding of how to operate effectively across diverse businesses.
- Project management skills, including the capability to prioritize work and deadlines effectively, file conflicts requests and update stakeholders as required.
- Exceptional data analysis skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$103,920.00 - $155,880.00
