Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited program.
  • A minimum of 4 years of related work experience and the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license.
  • The ability to execute design and construction phase work for remediation and general earthworks projects, including drawings, specifications, calculations, submittal reviews, and construction quality inspections.
  • The ability to lead single- or multidisciplinary project teams through design phases while tracking and ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience preparing basis-of-design documents, technical work plans, and technical approaches for proposals.
  • The ability to analyze, interpret, and present engineering concepts, designs, and data.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • The ability to function in outdoor locations such as active construction and remediation sites, walk long distances on varied terrain, climb ladders, and work at elevation.
  • The ability to receive and deliver detailed information through written and oral communications.
  • The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Support and execute civil and environmental engineering projects nationwide.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations for general civil project work related to remediation, earthworks, and stormwater.
  • Act as a design leader for single- or multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Prepare technical approaches, proposed budgets, and schedules for new project proposals.
  • Lead technical support personnel and design teams for assigned projects and assume responsibility for design decisions.
  • Perform conceptual evaluations, calculations, design drawings, and specifications, and validate team members' calculations.
  • Select materials or equipment and approve manufacturers' shop drawings when appropriate.
  • Consult with and advise clients regarding methods, equipment, and other project-related matters.
  • Maintain regular and effective two-way communication with the Project Manager, team members, and clients as required to ensure understanding of deliverables, concerns, and progress.
  • Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and opportunities to expand their experience and knowledge.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Professional Engineer license with an active National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying record.
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and current 8-hour refreshers.
