Requirements
  • Expertise in at least one programming language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, C#, or PHP
  • Firsthand knowledge of DevOps, modern software development, and the software development space.
  • Self-starter attitude, empathetic, and motivated to serve developers and make the colleagues around you better.
Responsibilities
  • Write code that enables developers to be successful with LaunchDarkly. This code may be part of our documentation, technical tutorials on the blog, an open source project, or another developer service, but regardless of where it ends up, you’re figuring out how to inspire and equip developers with code that makes it as easy as possible for them to get to success.
  • Work closely with the Product team to ensure that our products are developer-centric and that we get the details right for them.
  • Mentor other Developer Educators and Developer Experience Engineers on the team. We have a lot of raw talent on the team that can develop into great senior leaders of their own with the right guidance, both in technical areas and more broadly in doing right by our colleagues and customers.
  • Assist our docs team in determining the information architecture for our documentation, and work with them to execute on it. We aim to get developers to “aha!” with LaunchDarkly as quickly as possible, and then equip them to adopt increasingly advanced features of our platform.
  • Create projects & tutorials with our API and interact with developers in our community. You will both create tutorials yourself and work with others to expand the number of high quality tutorials on the blog.
  • Determine the current and future direction of our developer outreach channels such as blog, docs, YouTube, social, Discord and others. We aim to drive the business by doing right by our technical audience and serving those that need to build with our product. Figuring out how to constantly improve how we serve these users is critical to success in this role and to the company’s trajectory.

LaunchDarkly provides a platform for developers to manage and automate software features, primarily in the DevOps market. Its main product is a feature management platform that allows developers to control software features, enabling safe code shipping, self-serve experimentation, personalized user experiences, and improved application reliability. A key aspect of the platform is its ability to revert feature behavior without requiring code changes, which enhances developer productivity. LaunchDarkly operates on a subscription-based model, charging clients for access to its services. This approach helps clients innovate more quickly, automate software releases, reduce delivery costs, and maximize the impact of their software features. The goal of LaunchDarkly is to empower developers to improve their software development processes and deliver better products.
