Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph are required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of full-time combined cryptologic language processing, related language, and/or related cryptologic experience is required, together with a Bachelor’s degree; four additional years of related applied practical work experience may substitute for the degree.
  • A recent validated Interagency Language Roundtable Skill Level 3/3 (listening/reading), taken within the last two years, is required, with scores and test date included on the resume.
  • At least eight of the 15 years of experience must be in cryptologic operations language processing.
  • At least six of those eight years must be in cryptologic language processing in the required language.
  • At least five of those eight years must involve translating and/or transcribing and gisting in the required language.
  • At least three years in the required language must involve quality-control review of both audio and text translations at Interagency Language Roundtable Level 3.
  • No more than seven of the required 15 years may have reporting as the primary duty.
  • At least one year of experience in the required language must have been obtained within six years before resume submission.
Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks required to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of Signals Intelligence operations.
  • Transcribe complex and sophisticated spoken material and translate complex and sophisticated written material.
  • Gist complex and sophisticated written material.
  • Perform quality-control reviews of translations and transcripts of complex and sophisticated written material.
