Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Current State of Ohio emergency medical services certification is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required, with no more than four points and approval by the company insurance provider.
  • Annual proctored skills and written protocol (standing orders) testing must be completed without lapse.
  • The employee must be able to properly use all company-provided medical equipment.
  • The employee must maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations and protect sensitive company and employee information.
Responsibilities
  • Assess the extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
  • Administer initial treatment at emergency scenes.
  • Assist in extricating trapped victims and transport sick and injured persons to treatment centers.
  • Communicate with physicians and other medical personnel via radio and telephone.
  • Complete patient care and billing reports.
  • Maintain working knowledge of service areas, including facility locations, local regulations and procedures, and local medical procedures.
  • Perform regular assigned shift duties.
  • Maintain cleaning standards for stations, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Complete detailed incident and accident reports in a timely manner at management's request.
  • Use appropriate terminology and tone and follow all radio communication procedures.
  • Drive company vehicles in accordance with company driving policies.
