- Propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies to ensure mission systems maintain a strong operational security posture.
- Assist with day-to-day security operations, manage security aspects of systems, and support certification and accreditation activities in compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework.
- Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and review of security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
- Evaluate security solutions to ensure compliance with requirements for processing information.
- Perform configuration management of security-relevant system software, hardware, and firmware.
- Maintain records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, intelligent hubs, network switches, and other systems, including system upgrades.
- Maintain operational security posture and ensure compliance with system security policies.
- Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for information systems.
- Manage system changes while assessing security impacts.
- Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and, when required, serve as Approval Authority for systems under your purview.
- Assist with day-to-day security operations and support IT security programs and policies for programs, organizations, systems, or enclaves.
- Develop, update, and maintain system security plans and other information assurance documentation.
- Perform vulnerability and risk assessments to support certification and accreditation activities.
- Provide configuration management for system software, hardware, and firmware.
- Evaluate security solutions to meet requirements for processing classified information.
- Maintain operational security posture for assigned systems or programs.
- Prepare and review Certification and Accreditation packages in accordance with policies.
- Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for information systems.
- Manage system changes and assess security impacts.
- Support senior ISSOs and Information System Security Managers to maintain compliance with NIST RMF requirements.
- Experience supporting certification and accreditation (C&A) or reaccreditation activities
- Familiarity with operational security environments for programs, systems, or enclaves
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
