  • Six or more years of sales enablement, sales training, or related experience in the investment, banking, or financial services industry.
  • Four or more years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales enablement and business development strategy aligned with Institutional Trust goals and objectives to drive growth.
  • Identify areas for improvement and design initiatives to enhance sales effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and collaborations, to expand the client base and market presence.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, industry leaders, and potential clients, using networks and industry events to support business development activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs related to available talent, content, and supporting tools, and design and deliver sales training information.
  • Partner with the Sales Intelligence Unit to develop and update sales content, tools, and resources that enable sales professionals to engage clients and prospects throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with Institutional Trust leadership and the team to evaluate sales processes, identify optimization opportunities, and implement standardized sales processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure sales enablement and business development effectiveness, and provide reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate Business Development Officers, Associates, and Specialists; manage department workflow; guide departmental projects and issues; and provide coaching and development for direct reports.
  • Perform management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations, and disciplinary action.
  • Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information effectively to team members.
  • Support budget management, planning, and expenditure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Commerce Bank acquires boutique investment bank Nolan & Associates to expand middle-market advisory services

Commerce Bank has agreed to acquire Nolan & Associates, a St Louis-based boutique investment banking firm founded in 1976. The acquisition will add investment banking capabilities to Commerce's commercial and wealth platforms, enhancing its ability to support middle-market clients during business transitions. Nolan provides sell-side, buy-side, and capital raise advisory services across industries including building products, transportation, healthcare, and manufacturing. Upon closing, the firm will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Commerce Bank, retaining its employees and office. The deal includes Middle-Market Transactions, Inc., a FINRA-regulated entity through which Nolan delivers advisory services. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction requires regulatory approval and is subject to customary closing conditions. Commerce Bancshares holds $35.7 billion in assets and operates throughout the Midwest.
