The MBA Summer Internship is seeking highly motivated, first-year MBA students who plan to pursue a career in investing.
This 10-to-12-week summer internship is a paid, full-time opportunity starting in June 2023. Interns will be located at our Boston headquarters and will be offered a housing stipend along with a flexible working environment.
There are three main components that make up the internship:
1. Getting to know our firm
Through our summer program, you will experience first-hand our firm’s culture while interacting with and be exposed to seasoned investors throughout the Wellington organization. This exposure will help you build your network and discover what makes the Wellington experience unique. The internship will also offer exposure to our business networks (i.e., affinity groups). At Wellington we aspire to cultivate diversity of thought, diversity of culture and diversity of backgrounds, and our business networks are central to promoting that mission.
2. Immersion into the world of investing
You will have the opportunity to develop and deepen your investment knowledge by conducting security research, attending company management meetings, accessing the firm’s proprietary research notes, and attending our daily investor Morning Meeting. You will experience an intellectually challenging and rewarding summer that should offer insight into the investment industry and into Wellington Management.
3.Mentorship and feedback
You will receive training throughout the summer to develop and grow your investment acumen and help to shape a potential career in investment management. This will be through a combination of group meetings with investors and in-house training sessions covering advanced Excel modeling and FactSet or Bloomberg tutorials along with continued support through strong mentorship. MBA Summer interns will partner with more seasoned investors who will work alongside the Director of Early Career Investor Development to provide support and feedback.
The summer internship experience is representative of what an investor would do on a full-time basis at Wellington, and successful interns will be actively considered for full-time investor opportunities beginning after their graduation.
