Requirements
  • Relevant machine-independent MIG welding experience within the last two years.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to report to work each day for the scheduled shift.
Responsibilities
  • Perform welding in a fast-paced production-style environment.
  • MIG weld multiple attachments, including brackets and tubing from 12 gauge to 0.179 inches.
  • Pass the required ASME certification test involving a six-inch vertical-down weld with full penetration on 0.094-inch material and a 0.052-inch gap.
  • Follow welding codes and produce cosmetically acceptable welds without defects such as porosity, undercut, or concavity.
  • Follow and encourage coworkers to follow all safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
  • Perform gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding.
  • Assemble and MIG weld parts according to blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
  • Conduct quality inspections of completed work.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Repair, modify, and retrofit production items.
  • Provide data for monitoring and tracking project status.
  • Assist in training junior employees and inspecting their work.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work.
  • Maintain knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
  • Participate in developing a lean manufacturing culture.
  • Operate welding and non-welding equipment as assigned to meet customer demand.
