Synava is an alliance of healthcare IT software firms established in 2025 and backed by Bregal Unternehmerkapital. It acquires and partners with specialized, fast-growing healthcare IT firms that keep their own brands and operate independently, while gaining access to shared resources and strategic support. The portfolio covers radiology workflow, medical imaging, oncology data documentation, digital patient communication, hygiene management, and rehabilitation, with examples like medavis, Digithurst, EpiNET, and MedDream. The goal is to accelerate digital transformation in healthcare IT by delivering integrated, future-proof software that improves care quality and optimizes clinical workflows across hospitals and practices.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • IT-Choice added ONKOSTAR in September 2025, expanding oncology workflow coverage.
  • MedDream launched v8.9.0 in August 2026 with digital pathology and Teams/Zoom integration.
  • AWS partnership and HIMSS 2026 visibility strengthen MedDream's cloud-native distribution.

What critics are saying

  • MedDream faces fierce rivals like Intelerad, Agfa Healthcare, and Mach7 Technologies.
  • Platform integration across six-plus brands can stall product roadmaps and dilute accountability.
  • If oncology, radiology, and imaging deals fail, synava remains a capital-intensive roll-up.

What makes synava unique

  • April 2025 synava unites medavis, epiNET, Digithurst, InformMe, MedDream, POTTHOFF + PARTNER.
  • BU-backed platform keeps brands independent while sharing capital, network, and product expertise.
  • IT-Choice's September 2025 addition links oncology documentation with radiology and cancer registries.
