Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED and electronics training equivalent to two years of technical trade school or equivalent as determined by the Installation Manager.
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience as a Level II Central Office Installer.
  • Have the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses.
  • Have the ability to lift tools and equipment as needed, with a minimum of 10 pounds.
  • Be proficient in customer specifications and standards.
  • Have excellent communication skills, speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and obtain clarification, and demonstrate group presentation skills.
  • Have excellent time management and organizational skills; plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and develop realistic action plans.
  • Be dependable, follow instructions, respond to management's direction, and keep commitments.
  • Be available for travel.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret installation specifications for various construction projects.
  • Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment.
  • Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and grounding provisions.
  • Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders.
  • Create or correct location records, drawings, bills of material, installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customer central-office locations resulting from installation or engineering activities.
  • Use specifications and drawings to assemble and integrate telecommunications transmission equipment into a central-office environment.
  • Use hand tools required for installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire-wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, and stencils.
  • Inventory and transport tools and materials to the job site as required.
  • Provide direction to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools.
  • Provide self-quality checks of all portions of the job before sign-off.
  • Assemble, modify, and install overhead ironwork, relay racks, transmission equipment, and cable ladder.
  • Run power, signal, and ground cables to interconnect equipment.
  • Stencil installed equipment and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate departmental paperwork as requested.
  • Follow all safety and security requirements and help maintain a safe, hazard-free work area.
  • Be proficient in all phases of equipment installation and testing to support progression in the business.
  • Review installation specifications.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and solicit customer feedback to improve the partnership.
  • Dress appropriately for the job environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Residing in Virginia is preferred.
  • Five years of experience with Verizon switch or central-office equipment is preferred.

MasTec has priced a public offering of $650 million in senior notes due 2036. The notes will carry a 5.850% interest rate, payable semi-annually, and were priced at 99.656%. They will mature on 30 September 2036. The company intends to use the net proceeds primarily to repay some or all of its $600 million term loan, which matures on 26 June 2028, and to cover related fees and expenses. Any remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, potentially including repayment of existing debt under its senior unsecured credit facility. The offering is expected to close on 17 August 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. PNC Capital Markets, Truist Securities, Wells Fargo Securities, BofA Securities and J.P. Morgan Securities are serving as joint book-running managers.
