Requirements
  • You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent professional level experience
  • You have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, manufacturing and distribution experience is an asset (preferably a leadership role)
  • You have strong interpersonal skills: you can deal with difficult situations with tact and professionalism, and you know how to create strong relationship with a customer service focused mentality
  • You have proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional settings and can balance collaboration with autonomy
  • You have proven people leadership, mentorship and project management skills

Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire the maintenance team to develop innovative and comprehensive strategies that enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement, ensuring a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Oversee and refine end-to-end maintenance processes, including preventive maintenance, new equipment commissioning, and ad-hoc requests, to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate and partner with operational leaders to prioritize maintenance tasks and improvement initiatives ensuring they are met within target SLA
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans and schedules for new equipment installations. Coordinate with engineering, facilities and operations teams to ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Oversee, build, and maintain vendor relationships including negotiating contracts for external maintenance service providers.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including CSA, across all maintenance activities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and coaching while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment that aligns with company values and improves engagement
  • Design and implement systems to track KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing equipment performance and reliability
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, controlling costs while ensuring adequate resources for maintenance needs.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment necessary for maintenance activities.
  • Implement training of production and DC operators for basic maintenance tasks daily that fall within their responsibilities.
  • You are a problem solver who can recognize bottlenecks within a process and influence cross-functional teams to work to breakdown organization silos to achieve our goals.
  • Take on other projects and responsibilities consistent with the position and as required with the changing needs of the organization in support of business development
