  • Valid New York City driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of New York City streets, traffic patterns, and navigation systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple transportation assignments.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to maintain accurate transportation and delivery records.
Responsibilities
  • Provide Safe Transportation Services: Safely transport participants, staff, and authorized personnel to designated locations.
  • Follow scheduled routes and transportation assignments while maintaining punctuality.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational transportation policies.
  • Assist with Deliveries and Material Handling: Transport and deliver supplies, equipment, and program materials to various locations.
  • Load and unload items safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with moving and transporting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain Vehicle Safety and Readiness: Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts.
  • Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, fueled, and in proper working condition.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Document mileage, transportation logs, delivery records, and participant transportation activities.
  • Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Interact professionally and respectfully with participants, staff, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Support Community Operations: Assist with community outreach events and organizational activities as needed.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules with supervisors and program staff.
  • Provide general operational support to ensure efficient service delivery.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum 1–3 years of professional driving, transportation, delivery, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working with healthcare organizations, community-based programs, or social service agencies preferred.
