Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoArc).
- Ability to work with others, follow instructions, and prioritize work needs.
- Physical requirements include continuous standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, ability to work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes, ability to work from elevated areas, able to work in confined or cramped spaces, able to perform kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting and pinching, ability to fully use both hands/arms and perform repetitive motions, able to use both legs, reach in all directions, good finger dexterity, maintain tactile sensory functions and olfactory sensory function, lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted, lift/lower objects up to thirty-six inches unassisted, lift from thirty-six inches to overhead 25 pounds, exert up to 50 pounds of force, vision requirements including 20/40 corrected, distance and depth perception, color discrimination, good peripheral vision, maintain hearing acuity with correction, ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, ability to work rotating shifts, ability to work overtime as required, ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required, ability to work in a latex safe environment, and ability to be qualified physically for respirator use as required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and repair medical equipment, including preventive maintenance, cleaning, and adjustments.
- Perform other related duties to support patient care activities within established policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
- Six months training or experience in a hospital setting preferred.
