Requirements
  • An understanding of complex information design in print, gained from working in magazine, newspaper or illustrated non-fiction publishing
  • Trained editor with at least 3 years’ experience
  • Solid background of writing for consumers
  • Ability to analyze and interpret market trends and other external perspectives to identify content and product opportunities
  • A commitment to quality and continuous improvement – including a willingness to question current practice, to be hands-on and with strong attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Continually improve Lonely Planet’s guidebook series, reviewing content and design, to make sure they remain relevant through the 2020s
  • Work with Consumer Insight to rigorously test new concepts, and get ahead of emerging consumer needs
  • Create templates, guidelines and training for our commissioning and production teams to ensure consistent excellence in every guidebook
