Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Master's degree (Clinical Nurse Leader or Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred)
  • 10 CEU's annually (5 within specialty)
  • At least 5 years' experience required with 2 years in specialty (Emergency)
  • Registered Nurse with current Texas license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Other certifications as required by unit/service Magnet Recognized
  • Certification in applicable clinical specialty
  • Must be able to perform skills and competencies as defined in orientation checklist and annual departmental competency checklist if applicable
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to write and speak effectively in English

Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in Emergency Nurse (CEN) is desirable
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience in a high volume/acuity hospital Emergency Department setting is desirable
  • Preceptor and Educator experience is desirable
  • Subject matter expert in Emergency Nursing is desirable
  • Previous nursing experience in a high volume/high acuity hospital emergency department is desirable
  • Passion for training and educating; strong leadership skills, team building, and motivator are desirable
