Role: Head of Commercial Operations (West Coast)
Location: Vancouver, BC
Reporting into the West Coast Commercial Lead, the Head of Commercial Operations will be responsible for three main areas of focus - Operations and Team; Product and Revenue; and Client Relationships, as outlined below.
This person will have the Account Management and Trading teams reporting into them, to ensure seamless communication between departments in order to cement MiQ as the leading programmatic media partner in Western Canada.
Operations and Team:
- Drive a greater level of POD operational efficiency across Sales, Account Management and Trading by doing the following:
- Identify skill gaps and implement strategies for continuous professional development - working with stakeholders to provide tailored progression plans for specific members of the team
- Implement and uphold internal workshops throughout the year on a number of selected topics that may include areas such as reporting excellence, client service, how agencies work and understanding our revenue models
- Ensure effective communication between internal parties to drive home initiatives, messaging and operational developments which represents itself in two main areas:
- Implementing structured 1:1s to aid the professional development of our people at all levels
- Optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency; assessing and improving workflows to maximize productivity
- Representing MiQ at events throughout the region, speaking on panels and providing exceptional client service to all our partners
Product and Revenue:
- Working alongside the MD as well as the Product/Solutions teams to determine roadmaps and strategy for products/solutions specific to Western Canada, ensuring they are effectively socialised to sales and operations teams to encourage revenue growth
- Collaborate with sales and accounts teams to identify opportunities for products and upselling/cross-selling
- Work alongside the MD to establish a Western Canada commercial strategy aligned to internal and revenue goals - whilst maintaining internal development of team members
Client Relationships:
- Collaborate with Commercial leadership, including the MD, on where growth potential exists within Agency and Client partnerships (current and net new) to maximise MiQ’s business potential
- Work alongside the MD to collaborate with senior leadership across the industry to do the following:
- Identifying gaps in our own products andtheir services to create effective solutions for these gaps
- Gather client feedback to enhance internal products and services - make all offered services fit for purpose to grow organic revenue opportunities across our client base
- Position MiQ as a thought leader across our existing client base by presenting on industry topics and ensuring we have a regular presence within the agencies
Requirements
- Extensive experience in the programmatic industry, with a focus on operational excellence
- Commercial acumen and a strong understanding of the digital landscape and advantages of programmatic solutions
- People leadership experience, with a track record of growing talent and creating an inclusive and supportive environment
- Strong relationship building abilities, creating consensus and ensuring effective communication between various stakeholders
- Ability to stay agile and plan ahead to anticipate curveballs

Pay Transparency
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in British Columbia, MiQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to British Columbia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At MiQ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $130,000- $150,000. This range may vary for positions outside of British Columbia as it has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled and does not take into account our bonus and commission structures.
