Requirements
  • Three to five years of insurance service experience.
  • An undergraduate degree or a combination of industry education and experience.
  • A Property and Casualty license.
  • The Associate in General Insurance designation.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal insurance coverages.
  • Strong technical capacity with knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
  • The ability to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well.
  • The ability to plan and execute responsibilities independently and with discretion.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, retain, and grow an assigned book of accounts by planning and carrying out daily responsibilities with minimal direction, using sound judgment and independent thinking.
  • Maintain knowledge of carrier manuals, appetite, services, and coverage forms and products available from carrier partners.
  • Advise customers and prospects on insurance policies, products, and services available to protect their financial assets.
  • Perform front-end underwriting of accounts to align the proper carrier and best insurance solutions to customer and prospect needs.
  • Provide quotations, coverage summaries and comparisons, proposals, and recommendations.
  • Handle customer communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on customer deliverables, identifying and implementing solutions and informing the department director of problems.
  • Document all customer communications in the agency management system and maintain the confidentiality of customer documentation.
  • Provide periodic coverage reviews to address customers' new or changing insurance needs and inform customers about services available in other agency departments.
  • Guide associates' and analysts' processing of mail, renewals, new business, billing, cancellations, non-renewals, reinstatements, and other administrative functions.
  • Follow all systems, procedures, and regulations established by the agency, insurance carriers, and state departments of insurance.
  • Work toward individual, team, department, and agency business goals.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
