Requirements
  • BS degree in Engineering, Science, or other technical degree in a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, R&D, and manufacturing operations with a leadership role in an organization focused on the design/manufacture of complex engineered systems and products
  • A strong technical foundation with knowledge of engineering design, technology maturation and integration, reliability improvements, manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and lean manufacturing
  • Understanding of and operating experience with project-based, R&D-based, and production-based organizations
Responsibilities
  • After Proof-of-Concept and Pilot installations designed to validate product-market fit of prototype products, you will develop and optimize those products for cost-effectiveness, ease of manufacturing and assembly, and quick and cost-effective deployment in the field with outstanding reliability. You will take prototype production of 10's of units to stable production of reliable products in the 1000's of units and eventually 10,000's of units
  • Align engineering, operations, and supply chain efforts as a unified team. Own and optimize vendor evaluation and relationships, logistics, inventory, purchasing, and planning
  • Develop a multi-year operational plan to strengthen Boston Dynamics' position as the global market leader of innovative mobile robot products
  • Prepare detailed analysis and communicate status reports on the business for executive and board meetings
  • Comfort building the plane during take-off
  • A desire to change the world with our products
  • Confidence to create new processes and systems to support agile manufacturing of new products
  • Experience with products with complex, high-performance hardware and tightly integrated software
  • Demonstrated ownership of P&L responsibilities, showcasing a track record of driving profitability and financial growth while maintaining operational excellence
  • Track record of developing and managing multi-year financial plans effectively with the ability to deliver relevant KPIs and productivity metrics to mark progress
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
