Requirements
  • Completed technical, natural-science, or comparable training.
  • Recognized training as a dangerous-goods safety adviser for relevant modes of transport, at minimum ADR.
  • Experience handling hazardous substances, ideally in healthcare or laboratory environments.
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulations, including dangerous-goods law, the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, hazardous-substances law, and Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working method.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across disciplines.
Responsibilities
  • Advise executive management, managers, and employees on occupational and health safety and fire protection matters.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and risk analyses.
  • Support the assessment of working conditions and prepare resulting risk assessments.
  • Contribute to creating and updating safety concepts, operating instructions, and emergency plans.
  • Organize and conduct occupational-safety training and instruction.
  • Analyze occupational accidents and develop suitable preventive measures.
  • Document activities and prepare reports and evaluations as part of occupational-safety management.
  • Oversee the special isolation unit handling biological agents in risk groups 3 and 4.
  • Organize, monitor, and document all hospital-wide processes for handling hazardous substances and dangerous goods, including transport and safety.
  • Advise and support managers, employees, and departments on dangerous-goods regulations, including ADR, RID, and GGBefG, and on hazardous-substance safety under GefStoffV and TRGS.
  • Contribute to creating and updating risk assessments and hazardous-substance registers.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and workplace walk-throughs.
  • Train and instruct employees in the safe handling of dangerous goods and hazardous substances.
  • Analyze incidents and deviations and initiate suitable preventive measures.
  • Prepare the annual dangerous-goods report.
