Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced TS/SCI with Polygraph Data Engineer with expertise in Defensive Cyber Operations and Sensors Data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and managing systems that seamlessly transfer data between platforms, ensuring the integrity and security of information across various systems. This Data Engineer will have extensive experience building and managing dashboards, with a focus on feeding and integrating data.
This role requires a deep understanding of defense cyber operation strategies, with emphasis on integrating and analyzing data from Sensors to support real-time decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Data Integration & Management: Design, build, and manage systems to efficiently transfer data from various sensors and platforms to centralized databases or other systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.
Cyber Defense Analytics: Develop and implement advanced analytical models to detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats. Utilize sensor data to enhance the situational awareness and defensive capabilities of cyber operations.
Strategic Cyber Operations: Collaborate with cybersecurity and defense teams to design and implement strategies that support defensive cyber operations, focusing on leveraging data analytics to strengthen the overall cybersecurity posture.
Sensor Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data from a wide range of sensors to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential security threats. Develop algorithms to process and visualize sensor data in a meaningful way for decision-makers.
Design, develop, and manage dashboards to support Defensive Cyber Operations.
Create and manage automated data pipelines that facilitate the seamless flow of data between different systems. Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of these systems.
Implement data management best practices, including data governance, metadata management, and data quality assurance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity analysts, system engineers, and defense strategists, to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions that support mission objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements and implement solutions that meet operational needs.
Required Skills:
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cybersecurity and sensor data.
Proven experience in building and managing data integration systems within defense or cybersecurity environments.
Strong understanding of defensive cyber operation strategies and their implementation.
Experience with data ingestion, transformation, and distribution in a secure environment.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc.).
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
Experience with sensor data analysis and processing.
Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL processes, and database management.
What You Need To Have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.
TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Desired Skills:
Master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision in secure environments.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for ML (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) with a focus on security.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience in a defense or government-related environment.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar.

Salary Range:
