Gunnebo Canada vault solution for pharma logistics.

Gunnebo Canada vault solution for pharma logistics. 16 Apr 2026 Quick Read Summary is AI-generated, newsdesk-reviewed * Gunnebo Canada delivers Canada's first compliant vault for pharmaceutical controlled substance storage. * Class 2 vault meets updated Health Canada requirements for narcotics storage under multiple licenses. * Project enhances operational efficiency with a custom-engineered vault, alarm system, and security cage. Gunnebo Canada, in collaboration with Hamilton Security, has successfully delivered an advanced vault solution tailored for a third-party logistics company in Canada's pharmaceutical industry. This initiative marks the first vault in the country to align with the revised Health Canada guidelines, allowing for the storage of narcotics under various licenses within a single facility. Meeting regulatory requirements. Designed to optimize existing floor space, the project replaces multiple smaller vaults with one cohesive and compliant structure. Beyond fulfilling regulatory standards, the goal was to enhance operational effectiveness in a logistics environment dealing with both over-the-counter and heavily regulated pharmaceutical products. Integrated into the setup is a bespoke commercial intrusion alarm system for continuous monitoring Gunnebo Canada managed the entire project lifecycle. This encompassed the decommissioning of previous vaults and the design, manufacture, and installation of a new Class 2 vault with an accompanying security cage. Integrated into the setup is a bespoke commercial intrusion alarm system for continuous monitoring. Disrupting ongoing operations. "The real challenge was bringing together multiple complex elements into a single, compliant solution without disrupting ongoing operations," said Navin Chadha, Senior Distribution Manager at Accuristix. "We needed a partner who understood both the regulatory landscape and the practical realities of our environment. Having a single point of contact who could manage design, installation, and coordination made a significant difference to how smoothly the project progressed." The core of the installation is a custom-engineered vault, crafted with Class 2 panels per Health Canada directives. The vault measures approximately 27 feet tall, 39 feet wide, and 66 feet deep, made up of 232 panels and weighing over 750,000 pounds. Controlled substance storage. The end solution ensures compliance and meets enduring operational demands Featuring a specialized vault door with a Class M design and a one-inch steel plate façade, the vault is tailored to accommodate high-volume logistics operations. Encased within an expansive security cage, it exemplifies the layered security approach vital for controlled substance storage. Completion of the installation spanned three months, involving meticulous planning, coordination, and ongoing site involvement to align with expectations at every phase. The end solution ensures compliance and meets enduring operational demands, covering capacity, accessibility, and future scalability. Blair Cleveland, Regional Account Executive at Gunnebo Canada, concluded: "This project reflects the level of coordination and technical understanding required when regulatory requirements change and facilities need to adapt. It was about delivering a solution that works day to day while meeting a very specific and demanding brief. This project sets a clear reference point for how large-scale, compliant narcotics storage can be delivered under the updated requirements, from design through to operation."
