  • Collaborate with grade level peers to provide a rigorous and supportive curriculum for every student in their grade level
  • Use data to monitor student learning, make decisions about grouping, and determine next steps in lesson planning
  • Attend data teams meetings and reflect upon student progress to support other teachers in interpreting their data
  • Meet at least weekly with their team to co-plan lessons and units and potentially meet with special education or interventionist teachers to support all students
  • Teach the classes, groups, or programs as assigned
  • Help each other with lesson and unit planning as a team
  • Enter attendance daily into IC when homeroom and enter grades into the school learning management system based on standards-aligned assessments
  • Provide the Teaching Assistant with appropriate assignments and guidance
  • Build positive relationships with students and hold them to high expectations
  • Manage classes with positive proactive systems and routines
  • Seek information and support from SIT team, admin, and other staff when a student is not doing well
  • Serve as main point of contact for student-family communication
  • Set up a website and/or send home a regular newsletter about the work of the class
  • Engage families by inviting them to participate as volunteers or in class events
  • Build relationships with families through phone calls and meetings
  • Ensure all families attend student conferences held twice a year
  • Attend at least three evening or weekend events such as music performances, Cultural Fair, Fall festival
  • Help plan and lead at least one event for families during the year such as a parent education meeting or a student demonstration of learning
  • Attend all professional development as assigned by the principal
  • Participate as a member of at least one network, school, board or parent group committee
